Our APPROACH

Correcting underlying problems to help you THRIVE

We do not see our community as people who are sick and need help. We believe you are HEALTHY, ADAPTABLE and designed to heal; we are here to guide you on your way

Neurological Chiropractic

We take a neurological approach to chiropractic care which means we focus on the spine and nervous system.

The spine is a suit of armour made up of 33 moveable segments that protect the brain and spinal cord.

Day-to-day physical, chemical and emotional stresses can interfere with the delicate balance between the spine and nerves.

Our approach helps identify these imbalances and understand their effect on your health. We then set out a plan to help your body heal, feel, and stay at your optimal.

Feeling vs. FUNCTION

The spinal nerves can be split into 3 branches

Motor Nerves

Control muscles, movement and posture.

Autonomic Nerves

Control Blood Vessels, Organs and Glands

Sensory Nerves

Communicate sensation from the body to the brain.

Stress, nerve tension and abnormal function are often present before you feel pain. Pain is a common reason to seek care, but pain is a signal from your body telling you there is an underlying problem.

We address the cause of the pain instead of the symptom.

Our office uses Insight™ technology to objectively measure functional outcomes. We track changes in all 3 braches of your nerves to ensure a comprehensive, hollistic and full body approach.

Our Techniques

FULL SPINE APPROACH - EVIDENCE-INFORMED - INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED

Having graduated from the prestigious New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Dr. Daxon has an arsenal of many techniques to tailor care to your individual needs.

Manual Adjustments

  • We utilize many manual techniques to help you achieve your goals. A mix of ‘traditional’ diversified and Gonstead techniques as our primary approach to adjusting you at Burnaby Chiropractic.

  • Specific contact and set up.

Application of a quick, gentle and very specified impulse/thrust.

You may or may not hear a cavitation (gas being released in the joint).

Increased function, overall range of motion and specific motion of that joint/segment.

Table Assisted Adjustments

  • In many presentations, we utilize an drop assisted impulse to apply the corrective input at Burnaby Chiropractic. We have brand new state of the art tables to provide the best care possible.

  • Comfortably lying on the table, you will feel the table lift underneath you a few centimeters. The doctor will then apply a gentle and specific trust to your body.

The table makes sounds, not your body with this type of adjustment.

Instrument Adjustments

  • Chiropractic adjustment instruments designed to deliver a quick and specific impulse. In our office we utilize Activator Methods™ instrumentation.

  • The doctor places the instrument at a precise angle and uses it to deliver a very fast but low depth impulse to the body. This is a very gentle adjustment but does have a significant neurological effect.
