OUR PROCESS
Initial Consultation
First visit
Your healing journey starts with an initial consultation. An extensive first visit allows your doctor to understand the stresses your body is under and allows us to get to the root cause of problems.
When you first enter our office, you will be greeted by one of our chiropractic assistants. They are the heart of our practice and are here to make your life easy and stress-free! They will check to ensure the intake forms that were sent in advance have been filled out correctly as well as assist you with any enquiries you may have before you meet with the doctor.
Based on your intake forms and your goals, the doctor will bring you through an assessment tailored to you. This includes:
An in-depth health history.
An explanation of chiropractic and our unique approach to health care.
A comprehensive chiropractic assessment including physical, neurological, orthopedic, postural, balance, muscle, and range of motion testing.
INSIGHT™ scans to evaluate neurological function and the effects of spinal stress on your overall health.
During this visit, the doctor will go over / request previous imaging (MRI, CT, X-Ray) or request new imaging if clinically indicated. He will also make any appropriate referrals (if required) to other professionals.
Report of Findings and Adjustment
Second visit
Your second visit to the office is called a report of findings. This visit is usually scheduled within a few days of your initial adjustment. The doctor will sit with you, explain how chiropractic care can benefit you, go over your results, set out a personalized plan to meet your goals and answer any questions you may have.
In this visit, we will cover:
Examination results (posture, range of motion, balance testing, orthopedic testing, spinal exam findings, as well as Insight test results assessing neurological function.)
A plan of attack of how to best achieve your goals, maintain results and optimize your function and performance.
How long and how often adjustments are needed to achieve results.
What we need to do, and what you need to do, to get results.
Your first adjustment.
After making an informed decision to start care, we will proceed to deliver your first adjustment.
During your first adjustment, the chiropractor will explain to you what they are doing and why, and try to explain as best they can what you will experience. We utilize a number of different approaches and techniques, and the experience will vary slightly for everyone as it is individualized.
Subsequent Visits and Progress
Third visit onwards
After the doctor has recommended a care plan for you, visit-to-visit is a lot more streamlined. The doctor will assess the function of your spine and nerve system and evaluate what adjustments are needed on that visit.
All stages of care come with a recommended progress examination visit. The progress visit number will vary depending on you and your presentation and what was determined as the best plan of management for you. At the progress examination, we are re-assessing you to see how you are adapting with care, and if we can move you to the next phase of care.
We work very diligently to get results with you, and if we determine that you are not responding to care, or not as quickly as expected, we will make suitable and appropriate recommendations on how best to proceed.
